The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) became law in 1990. Its purpose is to ensure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.
To ensure access to buildings, the ADA Standards establish design requirements for the construction and alteration of facilities subject to the law. These enforceable standards apply to places of public accommodation, commercial facilities, and state and local government buildings. ADA compliance is a necessary requirement that architects, designers, spec writers, etc. must consider in their projects. INOX designs and manufactures ergonomic ADA pull handles that can be operated with one hand/limb without the need for tight grasping, pinching, or turning of the wrist. These ADA pull handles require no more than the required minimum amount of force to operate. |
